The Presence of God

1.  2 Chronicles 7:1-2 – "When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. The priests could not enter the temple of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled it." 

Isaiah – Saw God's glory in a vision

• Isaiah 6:1 – "In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of His robe filled the temple."

Adam and Eve – Walking with God in the Garden

• Genesis 3:8 – "Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden."

Elijah – Experienced God's presence in a gentle whisper

• 1 Kings 19:11-12 – "The Lord said, ‘Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.’ Then a great and powerful wind tore through the mountains and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper."

John the Apostle – Saw Christ in His glory in the Book of Revelation

• Revelation 1:17 – "When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as though dead. Then He placed His right hand on me and said: ‘Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.’"

The Disciples (Peter, James, and John) – Witnessed Jesus’ transfiguration
